Cherry
Productions - This was the name we gave to the organization
created to bring entertainment to young people on the
West Island of Montreal. From there it was a short hop
with my camera to the Rock shows at the Montreal Forum. . |

There are
many stories to be told about the early 1970s. One
relates to how a guy by the name of Al Gregory and the
local Youth Squad Cop - Sergent Lorne McNeil approached NSYS with the idea of sponsoring
some rock concerts. So we agreed and used Pierrefonds Arena to house a number of quite successful "dance" type events. Along with the Police, we formed an organization we called "Cherry Productions" to put on the shows. |

The acts we brought in were top notch Canadian performers such as " Edward Bear". . . "April Wine" . . . remember them?
Eventually we presented a concert with a group called Procol Harem - of "Whiter Shade of Pale" fame.
The real surprise of
the season was when we were asked to put on a concert for
a group called "Eagles", It was when their 1st
hit "Take it Easy" . . . or was it
"Peaceful Easy Feeling" . . . was just
released. Eventually some of use went on to help out at the Montral Forum Concerts - me with camera in hand. |
