THE BOAT TRIP TO VENICE - WHEN WE ARRIVED it was as if we had landed on another planet - a world like our own but one where every-day life took place on boats - in canals.

        We got off the ferry (right) that brought us from the mainland and were taken over bridges and along picturesque alleys.
